The Rainbow Center - Mircaz Keshet

Mission Statement
The mission of The Rainbow Center is to offer a compassionate Jewish response to gay, lesbian, transgendered and questioning people and their families by delivering support, education and resources. The Rainbow Center will provide educational resources and sensitivity training for the Jewish community as well as people of all faiths and beliefs in order to foster understanding, inclusion, and respect of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered and questioning people.

Objectives

  • EDUCATION AND TRAINING – We provide awareness and sensitivity training to organizations in our community regarding sexual orientation, homophobia and heterosexism in order to make our communities responsive and welcoming.
  • INFORMATION AND REFERRALS – We serve as a central location for information, resources and referrals concerning GLBT and questioning people and families.
  • COUNSELING & SUPPORT SERVICES – We provide individual, group and family counseling for GLBT and questioning people and families at risk. Different types of counseling are available, including psychological, pastoral and peer counseling.
